Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Boy Scouts 42nd Annual Distinguished Citizen Dinner To Celebrate 2016 Distinguished Citizen Honoree Shaun Del Grande

SAN JOSE, Calif. (November 10, 2016) – For more than four decades, the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council, Boy Scouts of America, has honored many of the leading corporate and community leaders of Silicon Valley with the Distinguished Citizen Award. Celebrating its 42nd year, the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council is pleased to announce that Shaun Del Grande, president of Del Grande Dealer Group (DGDG.com) will be the recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Citizen Award. Shaun will be honored Thursday, November 17, at the annual Distinguished Dinner, at the San Jose Fairmont, in downtown San Jose.

Shaun began working with his father more than 20 years ago, growing the family business from one dealership into the largest privately held automotive group in the Bay Area comprising 13 dealerships and 15 brands today. The care and appreciation applied to his customers is just as transparent within the community support provide by Shaun and the DGDG team, partnering with the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, Second Harvest Food Bank and Sacred Heart to combat homelessness. Taking pride in how others are treated is something Shaun takes very personal, which has also become just as important among the DGDG family.

The Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council’s annual Distinguished Citizen Dinner Gala raises awareness for Scouting as well as the necessary funds to serve over 14,000 youth in our community with lessons in character development, leadership and physical fitness. San Francisco 49ers President Al Guido, a longtime friend of Shaun’s, will act as master of ceremonies for the dinner. Hundreds of Boy Scout supporters, community leaders and fans of Shaun will help to celebrate the special evening including past Distinguished Citizens Honorees William J. Del Biaggio, Jon Ball, Art Williams and more.

Support for Boy Scouts is just one of the many ways Del GrandeDealer Group employees give back to the community through DGDG — Del Grande Does Good, the charitable arm of the Del Grande family and their family of dealerships. Through relationships and partnerships with charitable organizations, like Second Harvest, employees participate to help those in need year round.
